Playdough Recipe

1lb/ 500g plain flour

½ lb/ 250g salt

4tbs oil

8tsp cream of tartar

1 ½ pts/845 mls water

Drop or two of food colouring

Mix all the ingredients in a saucepan. Cook gently on a low heat STIRRING ALL THE TIME for approximately 3 minutes until the mixture takes on a playdough like appearance. Turn out dough onto a lightly floured surface and let it cool. Knead for a few minutes.

This playdough will keep in a covered container for several weeks.
